How to take Misoclear for postpartum haemorrhage
Misoclear is a safe and effective treatment for heavy bleeding after childbirth, also known as postpartum haemorrhage.
Before starting the treatment, please note:
- When treating postpartum haemorrhage, Misoclear should only be administered by a healthcare professional.
- It is important that the correct dose is used as incorrect dosing can lead to complications.
Step 1
Swallow 3 tablets of misoprostol (600mcg) with a glass of water. This should be taken within one minute after all babies have been delivered, before the placenta is delivered.
What to expect after taking Misoclear
It is normal to have strong cramps, expulsion of the placenta, and vaginal bleeding, which will get lighter.
Other side effects such as chills, vomiting, and diarrhoea should also be expected.
Speak to a healthcare professional or contact us if you have any questions.
Rare complications requiring medical attention
Seek medical help immediately if you notice any of these symptoms:
- Continuous and/or increasing heavy bleeding
- High fever (more than 38°)
- Retained placenta
- Foul smelling vaginal discharge
- Severe cramping or abdominal pain
- Severe and persistent vomiting or diarrhoea.
Do not take Misoclear before delivery
Misoclear should not be taken while still pregnant. If delivering more than one baby, wait until all babies are delivered before using Misoclear.
